The Madrid City Council has launched a project, driven by the Urban Development Department, that involves the transfer of land belonging to the City Land Assets for the promotion and development of affordable rental housing.
This project aims to place on the market approximately 2,200 affordable rental housing units on a total of 25 plots in 11 districts of the city of Madrid, promoted and developed by the succsessful biders. The land required for residential use will be granted by the city government under a 45-year surface right regime.
The objective is to promote access to rental housing for a wide range of social groups within a certain maximum family income limit, thus alleviating the economic burden of renting by building affordable rental housing.
The Madrid City Council's affordable housing project consists of 25 plots divided into 5 lots located in Madrid city. The plots are located in the following districts:
Culmia participates as the developer responsible for the construction and delivery of the buildings, in collaboration with Cevasa who will be in charge of managing the housing stock once construction is completed.
