Location and surroundings
RETAMAR is unlike any other project in the Community of Madrid, combining nature, sustainability and quality of life. This urban development to the south-west of Madrid prioritises integration with the natural environment, a new form of mobility, modernity and the well-being of its future residents.
This project involves 3,503 single-family and multi-family homes, each with a maximum of four storeys. They will be spread over an area of 1,140,000 m² in a new neighbourhood that represents one of the most significant urban expansions in the area, providing the perfect blend of tranquillity and accessibility. RETAMAR is located southwest of Madrid, between Alcorcón and Villaviciosa de Odón, close to the Madrid Judo Federation and the Rey Juan Carlos University Hospital.
The RETAMAR area has excellent transport links: Just 20 minutes from the centre of Madrid and 7 minutes from Alcorcón, the accessibility is excellent thanks to its proximity to the M-50 and the new connections it offers to major urban centres and essential services such as hospitals, schools and shopping centres such as X-Madrid, Ikea, Tres Aguas and Parque Oeste. Furthermore, the public transport connections are equally ideal, close to the Las Retamas train station and intercity bus lines, together with the new city bus lines that are planned for the new neighbourhood.
RETAMAR is a project based on an innovative design, with architectural features inspired by the principles of sustainability, using solutions and materials with a low environmental impact, and a new surface area of 300,000 m2 of planned green spaces, which means it has the highest ratio of green space per inhabitant of any of the new urban developments currently under way in the Community of Madrid. This is also complemented by the concept of sustainable mobility, with kilometres of cycle lanes and footpaths, charging points for electric vehicles and a nearly 40,000 m² of eco-car parks, which manage rainwater effectively with sustainable drainage systems, providing a total of 2,578 parking spaces.
